Data protection

CONXPERT GmbH & Co. KG takes the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the requirements of data protection law.

In this Privacy Policy, we provide you with information as to how, to what extent and for what purposes we process personal data when the CONXPERT GmbH & Co. KG website is used.

1. Object of data protection
The object of the data protection is personal data. Data is personal if it can be associated with an identified or identifiable person. It includes information such as name, address, e-mail address and telephone number.

2. Collection, processing and use of personal data based on consent
It is generally possible to use our website without providing any personal data. You are neither obliged to access this website nor to provide any personal data. Nor is it necessary to provide personal data in order to conclude a contract. If you do not provide us with personal data, you may not be able to use certain functionalities of this website. Otherwise, there will be no consequences for you. To the extent that personal data (e.g. name, address or e-mail addresses) is collected on our website, this is always done on a voluntary basis, except in the cases described here. This data will not be passed on to third parties without your express consent. We would like to point out that data transmission via the internet (e.g. when communicating by e-mail) can be vulnerable to security vulnerabilities. Complete protection of the data against access by third parties is not possible.
To the extent that the processing of your personal data is based on your consent, you will have the right to withdraw consent at any time, with the consequence that the processing of your personal data will not be permitted in the future. However, this will not affect the lawfulness of processing which took place on the basis of your consent until withdrawal.

3. Data processing to enable use of the website
When you visit our website, we collect the data which is necessary to enable you to use it (usage data). It includes your IP address and data about the beginning, the end and the object of your use of the website and, where applicable, identification data (e.g. your login data if you log in to a secure area). This data is collected for the purpose of providing the service and designing it to meet your needs. As a general rule, it is erased as soon as it is no longer required and there is no obligation to retain it. As regards the processing of pseudonymous user profiles, see point 5.

4. Cookies
When you visit our website, information may be stored on your computer in the form of a cookie. Cookies are small text files which are sent to your browser by a web server and are stored on your computer’s hard drive. This makes it possible to identify you when you visit the website again. This way, we can ensure a better functionality of the site and, for example, perform web analyses (see point 5). Most browsers are set to accept cookies automatically. You can disable the storage of cookies in your browser and can erase them from your hard drive at any time. We would like to point out that, without cookies, it might only be possible to use our services on the website to a limited extent. However, via your browser you can also prevent the setting of certain cookies only (e.g. cookies from third-party providers), for example if you want to prevent web tracking. You can find more information about this in the help function of your browser.

5. Pseudonymous user profiles for advertising and market research (web tracking and analysis)
For advertising purposes, market research and to make your use of our website as pleasant as possible, CONXPERT GmbH & Co. KG uses web tracking systems. Data about the use of our website is stored in pseudonymous user profiles (your IP address is anonymised). This enables us to further develop our website and tailor the content to meet your needs even better.
You can object to the creation of pseudonymous user profiles. To do so, firstly you can disable the setting of cookies in your browser (see point 4). Secondly, you can install a plug-in in your browser offering the ability to prevent tracking to protect your privacy – e.g. AdBlock, Ghostery or NoScript (please note the privacy policies of the respective plug-in provider). Furthermore, some tracking providers are members of trade associations (see below for details) with websites where you can object centrally to usage-based online advertising by the members of the association. Below are the websites of these associations for an easy, across-the-board opt-out from tracking by providers:

“European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance” (EDAA):
https://www.youronlinechoices.com/uk/your-ad-choice

“Digital Advertising Alliance” (DAA):
https://www.aboutads.info/choices

“Network Advertising Initiative” (NAI):

Below we also explain how you can specifically object to web tracking by Google Analytics.

6. Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (Google). Google Analytics uses cookies (see point 4) to make it possible to analyse your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, in member states of the European Union or in other states party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, Google will truncate your IP address beforehand and thus make it anonymous. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information in order to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports on website activity and render other services relating to website activity and internet usage to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser in connection with Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.
You can prevent the storage of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings in your browser software (see point 4) or by using a privacy plug-in
(see point 5). You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and concerning your use of the website (including your IP address) to Google and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en).
Alternatively, you can prevent Google Analytics from collecting data by setting a so-called opt-out cookie on your computer; to do so, use the following link:https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/analyticsjs/user-opt-out

You can find more information on data protection with Google Analytics at:
https://policies.google.com/?hl=en

7. Legal basis for processing
The legal basis for processing depends on the purpose for which the data is processed in each case. We collect data for pseudonymised user profiles, as described in point 5, on the basis of the applicable data protection law for telemedia.

8. Social networks
Our website contains links to social networks (e.g. Facebook, XING, Instagram). These social networks are operated solely by third parties. If you follow the links, information may be transmitted to these third parties. We use a so-called 2-click solution. This means that when you visit our site, no personal data is generally passed on. Only if you click on one of the social share buttons will data be transmitted to the respective provider.
If you activate the social share button, the respective social network will receive the information that your browser has accessed the relevant page of our website, even if you do not have an account with this provider or are not currently logged in to this provider. This information will then be transmitted by your browser to one of the provider’s servers and processed there. If you are logged in to this provider, the provider can associate your visit to our website directly to your account with this social network. If you interact with the share dialogue window (e.g. post a comment), the relevant information will also be transmitted directly to a server of the social network. The information will also be published on the social network’s page and displayed to your contacts. If you do not want the social network to associate the data collected on our website to your user account, you must log out of the provider before activating the plug-in for the first time.
To find out the purpose and extent of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by the social network, as well as your rights in this regard and the settings options for protecting your privacy, please consult the privacy policy of the respective provider, which you can find here:

9. Transmission to third parties
Your personal data will only be transferred to third parties if this is permitted by law or if you have given your prior consent. We will only forward your data to state authorities within the context of legal obligations or pursuant to an official order or court decision.

10. Transmission of data to states outside of the EU
To the extent necessary for our purposes, we will also transmit your data to recipients outside the EU if it has been ensured that the recipient of the data guarantees an adequate level of data protection and that no other interests worthy of protection are opposed to the transmission of the data. Should you have any questions in this regard, please contact our Data Protection Officer (see point 15).

11. Erasure
We will erase your personal data as soon as it is no longer needed for the purposes for which it was collected and processed, and to the extent that there are no legal retention obligations to the contrary.

12. Data security
CONXPERT GmbH & Co. KG has taken the technical and organisational measures necessary to protect the personal data you have made available from loss, destruction, manipulation and unauthorised access. Our staff and all persons involved in data processing are obligated to comply with data protection laws and to treat personal data confidentially. Our staff have received the appropriate training. Both internal and external audits ensure adherence to all data protection-relevant processes at CONXPERT GmbH & Co. KG.
To protect the personal data of our users, we use a secure online transmission method, the so-called “secure socket layer” (SSL) transmission method. You can tell this by the fact that an “s” is appended to the address component https:// (“https://”) or that a green, closed padlock icon is displayed. By clicking on the icon, you will receive information about the SSL certificate used. The appearance of the icon depends on the browser version you are using. SSL encryption ensures the encrypted and complete transmission of your data.

13. Your rights relating to personal data
Under data protection law, you have a number of rights in relation to data concerning you (so-called data subject rights). In general, these are the right to request information about the personal data we have stored about you, as well as the right to rectify or erase the data, have the processing of this data restricted, and to object to its processing. Whether and to what extent these rights exist in individual cases and which conditions apply is determined by law (until 25 May 2018 by the Federal Data Protection Act, as from 25 May 2018 also by the EU General Data Protection Regulation). The EU General Data Protection Regulation also grants you a fundamental right to data portability. If you have consented to the processing of your personal data, you can withdraw this consent at any time with effect for the future. You also have the right to complain to the competent data protection supervisory authority. Should you have any questions or complaints regarding data protection at CONXPERT GmbH & Co. KG, we recommend, however, that you first contact our Data Protection Officer (see point 15).

14. No automated individual decision-making
We will not use your personal data for automated individual decision-making unless this is required by way of exception for the conclusion of a contract or is permitted by law (as in the case of age verification).
